What is Kuk Sool?

Kuk Sool Sugar LandKuk Sool is the most complete martial arts system in Sugar Land and Missouri City, emphasizing self-discipline, respect, and education first! Kuk Sool is not a sport, nor is it simply another Asian self defense method. Kuk Sool is a complete martial arts system that is dedicated to the cultivation of mental and physical strength, well-being, and to the preservation of traditional Korean Martial Arts.

Unlike individual martial art styles like Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Aikido, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu, Kung Fu, or Judo, Kuk Sool is an enormous collection of Martial Art skills that was originally intended not as a “style”, but rather as a system of training in virtually all aspects of Martial Art. For self defense, Kuk Sool is unsurpassed. It includes aspects of all traditional Asian fighting methods in its curriculum: Striking and kicking, throwing and grappling, joint-locking and arresting techniques, pressure point striking and manipulation, techniques based on the movements of certain "martial" animals (such as the tiger, crane, preying mantis, etc.), falling techniques, body protection and internal development, traditional Korean forms, traditional Korean weapons unavailable in any other type of martial arts school in Houston — including Korean sword, archery, staff, cane, folding fan, rope, and much, much more.

From Beginner to Black Belt, Kuk Sool has a program for everyone! You don't need prior martial arts training and don't need to be in perfect shape. Our classes are designed from the ground up to help you become stronger, both mentally and physically.

Come in today and give us a try. Your first class is absolutely free, and includes a one-on-one lesson with a Black Belt instructor. Kuk Sool is the very best value for your martial arts dollar in the Sugar Land area — let us show you why!

Your Child and Martial Arts

Karate Kids Missouri CityEvery parent wants the best for their child, but how do you prepare them for all the challenges that they face in today’s world? How do you teach them the motivation, discipline, and proper attitude necessary for success?

Teaching children basic traits like goal setting and self esteem at a young age can have a massive impact on what that child accomplishes in later life. Kuk Sool motivates children and teaches them confidence, coordination, physical fitness and etiquette.

Kuk Sool is a highly supervised activity. The children are never asked to perform any movement that would put them in danger of injury.

Our primary focus is to teach children "life skills." Because a structure of respect, courtesy and honesty is built into Kuk Sool, children develop the ability to listen, learn and achieve within a highly regulated environment. Most sports don’t build leadership traits. If you have the necessary skills to perform, you’re in the game. If not, you’re on the bench. Kuk Sool is different.
